Chittorgarh’s ‘Gold Man’ Kanhaiyalal Khatik has received threat from gangster Rohit Godara gang. A ransom of Rs 5 crore has been demanded from him or he has been asked to stop wearing gold. Kanhaiyalal is famous for wearing 3.5 kg of gold.
Kanhaiyalal Khatik, famous as the ‘Gold Man’ of Chittorgarh, has received a threatening call from the gang of gangster Rohit Godara. Fruit businessman Kanhaiyalal told that people of Rohit Godara gang have threatened him to pay Rs 5 crore or stop wearing gold in public.
Threat to ‘Bappi Lahari’ of Chittorgarh: Demand of Rs 5 crore
Businessman Kanhaiyalal Khatik from Chittorgarh, Rajasthan, who is also known as ‘Bappi Lahari of Chittorgarh’, has lodged a complaint with the police. According to him, he received a missed call two days ago. Then a WhatsApp call came from the same number. When he did not respond, the accused sent an audio recording demanding a ransom of Rs 5 crore.
The person threatening said that if he did not obey him, he would not be able to wear gold in public. Kanhaiyalal told in his complaint that the caller also asked to settle the matter quietly. Subsequently, another call came to fulfill the demand, following which he lodged a formal complaint at the city Kotwali police station.

50 year old Kanhaiyalal used to sell vegetables on a cart before getting into the fruit business. His fortunes changed after he started apple business and in his later years he became fond of gold jewellery. Currently, he is known to wear around 3.5 kg of gold, due to which he got the name ‘Goldman’ in Chittorgarh.
Who is gangster Rohit Godara?
Rohit Godara, a resident of Lunakaran, Bikaner, is believed to be in Canada. There are more than 32 cases registered against him in different police stations of India. According to the police, Godara used to run an extortion racket from businessmen in Rajasthan. Godara is one of the accused in the murder of rapper Sidhu Moosewala, who created a sensation in Punjab. Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moosewala was 28 when he was shot dead in Punjab’s Mansa district on May 29 last year. He is also the main accused in the murder of gangster Raju Thehat in Sikar.
On June 13, 2022, the accused Godara had fled from New Delhi to Dubai using a fake passport in the name of Pawan Kumar. Interpol has issued a Red Corner Notice against him.
