Gerhard Erasmus Leads Namibia’s Squad For 2026 ICC T20 World Cup

All-rounder Gerhard Erasmus will captain Namibia in their pursuit of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

This will mark the African nation’s fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament.

 

 

Erasmus will captain Namibia’s squad, with wicketkeeper-batter Zane Green adding his experience as an opening batsman. Namibia’s T20 squad boasts a strong mix of seasoned international players such as JJ Smit, Jan Frylinck, and Bernard Scholtz, who contribute their proven records and experience to the team. They are joined by pace bowlers Ruben Trumpelmann and Ben Shikongo. Nicol Loftie-Eaton, WP Myburgh, and Malan Kruger will further enhance Namibia’s batting line-up.

Namibia have been placed in Group A in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with four crucial matches at various venues. They will kick off their campaign against the Netherlands in a morning match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, starting at 11:00. Next, Namibia will face tournament hosts India at the same venue in a high-profile evening clash starting at 19:00. Their third match will be against the USA at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, beginning at 15:00. Namibia will conclude this series of fixtures with a challenging game against Pakistan at the Sinhalese Sports Club in Colombo, which is also scheduled to start at 15:00.
