This player has created a stir in the cricket world by taking 5 wickets in a single match, which also included a hat-trick.
Created history by taking 5 wickets in one over
Actually, the Indonesian team is currently playing an 8-match T20 series against Cambodia. The first match of this series was played in Bali on 23 December, which became recorded in the history of T20I cricket. In this match, Cambodia won the toss and decided to bowl first and the Indonesian team managed to score 167 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. During this, Dharam Kesma played an inning of 110 runs, which included 8 fours and 6 sixes.
In response, the Cambodian team was all out after scoring 107 runs in 16 overs, the biggest reason for this was the stormy bowling of Gede Priyandana. He accomplished this unique feat by taking five wickets in a single over. He became the first bowler to achieve such a feat in the history of T20I cricket. Let us tell you, while chasing 168 runs, Cambodia team had lost 5 wickets for 106 runs after 15 overs and the match was at an exciting turn. Then the ball was handed over to Priydana. He did wonders in his very first over. Completed the hat-trick by taking consecutive wickets in the first three balls. Then after a dot ball, he completed the over by sending 2 more batsmen to the pavilion. Only one wide run came in this over and Cambodia’s innings was reduced to 107 runs, due to which Indonesia won the match by 60 runs.
This happened for the third time in T20 cricket
However, in T20 cricket (at the domestic level), the feat of taking five wickets in an over has been achieved twice before. Bangladesh’s Al-Amin Hossain achieved this feat in the 2013-14 Victory Day T20 Cup and India’s Abhimanyu Mithun achieved this feat in the 2019-20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. But this is the first time in International T20.
