The hostages were released in two phases. In the first phase, 7 hostages were released on Monday morning. In the second phase, 13 hostages were released.
People liberated by Hamas have returned home after a fierce two-year war. There has been a ceasefire mediated by America. US President Donald Trump has arrived in Israel ahead of his scheduled visit to Egypt for the Gaza peace summit. He is going to give a speech in the Israeli Parliament. Trump welcomed the ceasefire and said,
The war is over. It’s a great day. This is a new beginning. Hamas will follow the plan to give up weapons.

20 surviving Israeli hostages released in exchange for 1900 Palestinian prisoners
According to the agreement, 20 surviving Israeli hostages have been released in exchange for more than 1900 Palestinian prisoners held in Israel. The names of the freed hostages are Etan Mor, Gali, Ziv Berman, Matan Angrist, Omri Miran, Guy Gilboa Dalal, Alon Ahel, Aviator David, Allon Ohel, Evintan Or, Ariel Cunio, David Cunio, Nimrod Cohen, Bar Kuperstein, Yosef Chaim Ohana, Segev Kalfon, Elkanah Bohbot, Maxim Harkin, Ethan Horn and Rome Braslavsky.
Before their release, some hostages spoke to their families through video calls. This conversation was full of emotions. The families saw their loved ones after two years. The Israel Defense Forces posted an update on social media under the title Operation “Returning Home.” It confirmed that IDF and ISA personnel were returning to Israel along with the seven released hostages.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara have prepared handwritten notes and gifts for the returning hostages. The note read: “On behalf of all the people of Israel, welcome! We were waiting for you, embracing you.”
