On the sidelines of the 2025 Delhi Premier League (DPL), Indian cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir answered a rapid-fire round, where he was asked to name players of the Indian team for some particular terms.
Gambhir’s answers had the names of several Indian cricket team stars of the past and present, such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and Shubman Gill.
In an interaction on the offical social media account of the DPL; The Indian head coach named current Test captain Shubman Gill as the most ‘stylish player’ in the team. When asked to name the player who is a ‘Desi boy’ (local boy), Gambhir named Kohli

Gautam Gautam Set for Asia Cup Challenge
After a one-month break, post the grueling tour of England where India played out a heroic 2-2 draw in the five-match series, Gambhir will take charge of the team once again in the 2025 Asia Cup as attention of the Men in Blue turns towards T20 cricket with the 2026 T20 World Cup less than six months.
The continental showpiece event will take place in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28. India will play the UAE in their opening game on September 9 in Dubai before going head-to-head against arch-rivals Pakistan on 14th September at the same venue.
Gambhir has completed one year in charge of the Indian team. While the performances in Test cricket have faced criticism, the record in T20I cricket has been largely flawless. India also won the Champions Trophy in the ODI format in his tenure.
