Who suffered loss because of Gautam Gambhir? (PC-PTI)
The start of the Australia tour was very bad. Team India lost the first ODI match by 7 wickets. Not only was the poor performance of the players responsible for this defeat in Perth, but head coach Gautam Gambhir is also considered to be the reason for this. According to former veteran cricketer R Ashwin, the kind of team Gautam Gambhir is fielding is causing more losses than gains. R Ashwin even hinted at the fact that due to his strategy, a player was also suffering loss and this problem could become serious in the future.
Attack on Gambhir after defeat
Ashwin has posted a video on his YouTube channel in which he Gautam Gambhir The strategies have been questioned. Ashwin warned Gambhir regarding Kuldeep Yadav. Warning Gambhir, Ashwin said that not giving Kuldeep Yadav a consistent place could raise questions about his usefulness in the team, which could cause him mental problems. He said, ‘I think when a player is dropped from the team, he asks himself: ‘Am I the reason for the team’s defeat?’ According to Ashwin, the same question must be coming in Kuldeep’s mind also. If even after such a good performance, he is dropped from the team and someone else gets a chance, then he might be thinking that he is the problem. Ashwin said that such decisions cause a lot of debate within the team.
Why so much obsession with all-rounders?
Ashwin gave another advice to Gautam Gambhir that he should leave his obsession with all-rounders and focus on bowling as well. Ashwin was frustrated that he could not understand Gambhir’s passion for extra batsmen and insisted that Kuldeep Yadav, one of India’s best bowlers in the team, should play every match. Ashnin said, ‘I understand that he wants depth in batting. But if this will help you win the match, then the batsmen should take responsibility. I would always say, give a chance to your best bowlers. Don’t pick a player just because you want depth in batting. How many all-rounders do you need? You already have three. Even after having Nitish Reddy in the team, if you cannot field your best bowlers, then I cannot understand it at all.
