Gauahar Khan recently got candid about her early days in the fashion world on Debina Bonnerjee’s podcast. The actress and former model reflected on the grit, grind, and glory of her journey, especially during her initial modelling days.
“As an 18-year-old, I was extremely… I felt I was ahead of my time. The way I would answer questions. The way I would speak my mind. I had the confidence of somebody who was probably in their 20s,” Gauahar shared. Her self-assurance, even as a teenager, often set her apart from others. “In fact, when I used to do local pageants in Pune, I used to be 14-15 years old. And everyone else used to be like 21, 22, 23. And I would still beat them.”
She added with clarity and pride, “It was something in me that I knew—that I was born to be on stage. And speak my mind and all of that. So, I think I gave it my thousand percent. I wouldn’t change anything.”
But along with that passion came relentless hard work. Gauahar emphasized that the modelling world is often misunderstood as glamorous, when in fact, it demands far more effort than most people know.
