According to the seventh chapter of Garuda Purana, those who misbehave with their wives, after death their soul is sent to Raurava hell, where fierce snakes called Ruru live, who continuously bite the souls of those who misbehave with their wives. It is written in the 10th chapter of Garuda Purana that Yastu Bharyaparitya Parastrishu Ramet Narah. S Kumbhinipke Gore Pachyate Kaalsantya ॥
This means that whoever, instead of having relations with his wife, has relations with another woman, after death his soul is sent to a severe hell called ‘Kumbhinipak’, where he is punished according to time. It is clearly stated in Garuda Purana that it is very important to remain faithful to one’s wife. One should not cheat one’s wife in any way. Doing this is a big sin.
