Garuda Purana: If a person has these 4 things at the time of death, he does not go to hell, but gets a place directly in heaven.

Garuda Purana: In Sanatan Dharma, death is considered an inevitable truth. Upon death, a person goes to heaven or hell based on their deeds.

However, according to the Garuda Purana, if a person possesses four things at the time of death, they directly attain heaven. Let’s learn about those four auspicious things.

Garuda Purana: Death is the only truth of life. There is no human being on this earth who has come after drinking nectar. Every person knows that one day they too will have to leave this body. Hinduism describes the soul’s journey after death in detail. According to religious beliefs, after death the soul departs to Yamaloka. Most people spend their entire lives striving to avoid the sufferings of hell after death, so they accumulate virtue and perform charitable deeds. But can fasting, worship, and charity alone ward off the fear of hell? According to the Garuda Purana, a person has to suffer the consequences of both their good and bad deeds after death. However, in the 9th chapter of the Garuda Purana, Lord Vishnu suggests a special solution to the bird king Garuda. It is said that if a person possesses four things at the time of death, the messengers of death do not come to them, and the soul attains a place in heaven.

Tulsi plant leaves

In Sanatan Dharma, Tulsi is considered a form of the Goddess. A person who dies while adorned with Tulsi buds does not go to Yamaloka. Therefore, the dying person should be laid near a Tulsi plant. Tulsi buds should also be placed on their forehead and Tulsi leaves in their mouth. It is said that a person who dies in this manner does not go to Yamaloka.

Ganga water

There is a belief and tradition that at the time of death, Ganges water is poured into a person’s mouth. The Ganges originated from the feet of Lord Vishnu and is believed to destroy sins. It is said that one who dies after imbibing Ganges water attains heaven. The Puranas also state that immersing the ashes in Ganges water after cremation ensures the enjoyment of heaven as long as the ashes remain in the Ganges.

Sesame seeds

Sesame seeds originated from the sweat of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, they are considered very sacred. It is said that sesame seeds should be donated by the deceased at the time of death. It is believed that donating sesame seeds keeps demons, devils, and monsters at bay. Remember to place black sesame seeds at the bedside of the deceased, as this brings salvation.

Kush

Kusha grass is a special type of grass used in religious ceremonies. Kusha grass is considered very sacred. It is said that at the time of death, the person should be laid to rest on a Kusha mat near a Tulsi plant.
