journey of the soul after death

Journey of the soul after death: Today veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra said goodbye to the world. That means he passed away today. His last rites were performed in Vile Parle, Mumbai. His elder son Sunny Deol lit his funeral pyre, but it is said in Hindu scriptures and Puranas that death happens only to the body. The soul is considered immortal.

However, this question always comes in the minds of people that if the soul has left the body and has set out on its journey, then where will it go and how many days will it take for it to assume a new body? Let us know about this in detail.

According to Garun Purana…

Garun Purana is included in 18 Mahapuranas. In this, the journey of the soul after the death of the body is described and everything about it is explained in detail. According to Garuda Purana, the soul travels a very long journey after death. After death, the soul reaches Yamalok, where it is presented before Yamraj, the god of death. It is said that in this journey the soul covers a distance of about 86 thousand yojanas.

In how many days does the soul take rebirth?

If the deeds are good, then the soul is not given any kind of torture to reach Yamalok, but if the deeds are bad, then the soul is given many kinds of troubles. It is mentioned in Garuda Purana that as per the actions of a man, his soul travels the same way. It is said in mythological scriptures that rebirth takes place from the third to the 40th day after death. That means the soul has to pass through this circle of 40 days.

It is believed that the soul can attain salvation after passing through these 40 day circles. Now these deeds of a man determine whether his soul will find God or he will have to return to the world of death again in the worldly illusions.
