Garmin introduces Forerunner 70, Forerunner 170 smartwatches

New Delhi: Garmin is introducing a pair of purpose-built running smartwatches in India, the Forerunner 70 and the Forerunner 170. The watches are easy to use with a 5- button design and feature vibrant AMOLED displays. Runners can access everyday health features, advanced training tools, smart notifications and more, all without needing to juice up the smartwatch every night. The Forerunner 70 features built-in GPS, time, distance, pace and wrist-based heart rate. There are also workout suggestions tailored to the fitness level of the runner, that are easy to setup with inputs being just the desired time and intensity. The Forerunner 70 features up to 13 days of battery life, and is available in a bunch of colours.

The Forerunner 170 has more advanced training and recovery metrics, with a training readiness feature that helps you track how productive the training is. For specific goals and more structured training, there are personalised training plans available with the Garmin Coach. The Garmin Coach training plans help runners train for events, achieve milestones or improve fitness. The Forerunner 170 boasts of a battery life up to 10 days. There is also the Forerunner 170 Music variant that is available in more vibrant colours, and allows users to download and access playlists from popular streaming services right on the smartwatch, without the need for a paired phone. Both the Forerunner 170 and the Forerunner 70 will be available in India from June 2026.
