Plants do not eat food like humans. They make their own food using sunlight, water and carbon dioxide from the air with the help of chlorophyll present in their leaves. This process is called photosynthesis. In this process, plants make glucose, i.e. sugar, which is sufficient for their growth and energy. Therefore, there is usually no need to give sugar from outside.
