Rules of Ganesh immersion
Ganesh visarjan rules in hindi: The first revered Ganpati Bappa among all the gods came from house to house on 27 August 2025 this year. During the 10-day Ganeshotsav, people sit Bappa for different days. Ganesh ji is established for 3, 5, 7 or 10 days as per its wish. The 10 -day Ganpati is immersed on Anant Chatardashi and on this day Ganeshotsav also ends. This time Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 6 September 2025 and Bappa will bid farewell to his devotees on this occasion.
In Hindu scriptures, some important rules of immersion of Ganesha have been mentioned, which every devotee should follow. It is said that if these things are not taken care of during Ganpati immersion, then there is no complete fruit of worship of 10 days.
What are the rules of Ganesh immersion?
Mouth direction- While taking Ganesha to immerse, his face should be kept towards the house, so that Bappa can bless the house before leaving.
Aarti before farewell- Before farewell to Ganpati Bappa, do worship and do Aarti. Offer fruits, flowers, betel nuts, rice, turmeric, 21 durva, kumkum and sweets and send it to Bappa.
Red clothes remedy- Before Ganesh immersion, wrap a coconut or betel nut in red cloth with turmeric and rice and keep it in your vault.
Prasad Arpit- Before the worship before Ganesh immersion, Bappa must be offered 5 modaks and then they should be distributed among all the devotees.
Immersion water at home If possible, immerse Bappa by filling water in clean utensils or buckets in the house itself. Later put this water under a tree or in plants.
Mantra and chant- Before Ganesh immersion, revolve around the clock direction 3 times. After this, “Ganpati Bappa Morya, next year Tu Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
Bappa’s blessings- Before farewell to Ganpati Bappa, bending at his feet and asked for blessings of the whole family’s wealth, prosperity and health.

- Morning Muhurta- from 7:36 am to 9:10 minutes.
- The afternoon Muhurta- from 12:19 minutes to 5:02 minutes.
- Evening Muhurta- 6:37 minutes to 8:02 minutes in the evening.
