Rules for ganesh visarjan: According to the almanac, this time Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 6 September. On this day, devotees immerse the idol of Ganesha after being seated in their homes for ten days. This is a emotional moment to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha, but it is also very important to do this farewell in a correct way. During immersion, some small mistakes should be avoided, so that this auspicious work can be done with full devotion and respect.

Do not dirty reservoirs
Do not immerse the idols of Ganpati directly into rivers or ponds. Nowadays, to protect the environment, the tradition of immersion of artificial tanks or at home is adopted. This does not cause water pollution.
Unbroken idol: Keep in mind that the idol should not be fragmented before being taken for immersion. The immersion of the fragmented idol is considered inauspicious.
Incomplete laws: Before immersion, do the aarti and worship of Ganesha with full devotion. Offer them modak, laddus and flowers. It is not right to immerse incomplete law.
Do not put the idol in straight water: Instead of throwing or pouring the idol directly into the water, flow it slowly and respectfully into the water. By doing this it will be a respectable farewell.
Drug addiction: On the day of immersion, drug should not be consumed at all. On this day, one should remain completely sattvic and bid farewell to God with a pure mind.
Do not throw enjoyment and worship materials around: Do not shed things like flower-garland, clothes, coconut or sweets in water. Keep them in the root of a clean place or a holy tree.
Do not look back after immersion: It is believed that one should not look back after immersion. Farewell to God by promising to return next year.
Importance of Ganpati immersion
The day of Anant Chaturdashi concludes the ten -day festival of Ganesh Chaturthi. The immersion done on this day is not just immersion of an idol, but is also considered a symbol of immersing all its sorrows and troubles with God. Therefore, this farewell is done with full devotion, respect and right law, so that Bappa can come to our house again next year.
