Ganesh Chaturthi 2026: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, September 14, extended his greetings to people on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
PM prayed that the festival would bring new energy and fresh enthusiasm to people’s lives. He also wished for prosperity and success for all.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said, “Heartfelt Ganesh Chaturthi wishes to all my fellow citizens. May this sacred festival of darshan and worship of the Remover of Obstacles infuse new energy and fresh enthusiasm into everyone’s lives. May all endeavours succeed through His divine blessings, and may the nation continue to advance on the path of constant progress-this is my prayer. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”
He said the festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, known as the Remover of Obstacles, should bring new energy into everyone’s lives. PM Modi also prayed that people’s efforts succeed with the blessings of Lord Ganesha. He wished that the country continues to move forward on the path of progress.
The Prime Minister also shared a Sanskrit verse dedicated to Lord Shri Vinayaka. The verse praises Lord Ganesha and describes him as the protector of the universe and the remover of sorrow and difficulties.
The verse says: “I bow to Lord Shri Vinayaka, whose sacred hands are adorned with modakas; who forever guides seekers on the path of liberation; who wears the crescent moon as an ornament upon his forehead; who is the protector of the entire universe and the sole supreme lord of the cosmos; who vanquished the demon Gajasura; and who swiftly frees his devotees from all sorrows and afflictions.”
CM Yogi, Nitin Gadkari extend Ganesh Chaturthi greetings
Earlier in the day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also greeted devotees and people of the state on Ganesh Chaturthi. He prayed that the blessings of Lord Ganesha remove all obstacles, fulfil people’s wishes and bring happiness and prosperity. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also extended his greetings and prayed for the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the deity of wisdom and intellect.
Taking to social media platform X, CM Yogi said, “Heartiest congratulations and best wishes to all devotees and the people of the state on the sacred festival of worship of Lord Shri Ganesh, the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of auspiciousness, ‘Shri Ganesh Chaturthi’. May every obstacle be removed by the grace of Ganpati Bappa, every resolve be fulfilled, and every life overflow with happiness, prosperity, and auspiciousness-this is the prayer.”
“Ganpati Bappa Moriya,” he added.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also extended his greetings to people on the auspicious occasion. Gadkari posted on X, “Heartfelt wishes on the auspicious festival of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi. May the blessings of Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the deity of wisdom and intellect, always remain upon everyone. Ganpati Bappa Morya!”
Ganesh Chaturthi: Date, time
This year, Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated on September 14. The festival period will end with Anant Chaturdashi on September 25. On this day, devotees traditionally take part in immersion processions to bid farewell to Lord Ganesha.
Stock Markets Closed on Ganesh Chaturthi
The Sensex and Nifty remained closed on Monday due to Ganesh Chaturthi. The NSE and BSE declared September 14 a full trading holiday, with equity and derivatives trading suspended for the day. The commodity market followed a separate schedule, with the MCX closed during the morning session and reopening at 5 pm.
