Ganesh chaturthi 2025: Ganesh Visarjan is performed every year on Anant Chaturdashi, that is, Lord Ganesha is immersed after ten days of Ganesh festival. How did Lord Ganesha go born?
According to the legend, Lord Ganesha was born with the scum of Mother Parvati’s body. When Mata Parvati was going to take a bath, she made an effigy from the scum of her body and put her life in it and asked her to guard her on her door. The effigy was named Ganesh. When Lord Shiva came there, Ganesh ji stopped him from going inside, causing Mahadev of the gods to be angry and he beheaded Ganesha. Later, when Parvati ji was unhappy, Shiva revived the child of an elephant by connecting the head of Ganesha to the torso.
Mata Parvati took the gazelle child with her heart. The three gods gave the boon of Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh to declare that child as the best.
During this time, worshiping Ganesha resides in the house of happiness and prosperity and negativity is removed from the house. Ganesh ji was born with soil or body dirt or boil, his idol is also made from soil. Ganesh ji idol is immersed in the river, pond or water to show their birth cycle.
