According to Drik Panchang, Ganesh Chaturthi will start from 01:54 pm on 26 August 2025 and this date will be till 03:44 pm on August 27. The most auspicious time for the establishment and worship of Ganesh ji is 27 August 2025. On this day you can bring Bappa home in the morning or in the auspicious time of the afternoon. At the same time, there will be Ganesh immersion on 6 September 2025, which is the day of Anant Chaturdashi.
Know these important rules before the establishment of Ganesh
To get the full fruits of worship on Ganesh Chaturthi, it is considered very important to follow some rules while establishing Bappa.
Ganesh ji’s trunk: Always take such a statue in which Ganesha’s trunk is turned to the left. Worshiping such a statue soon gives auspicious results. The statue with a twisted trunk on the right is considered to be a Siddhivinayak form and some strict rules have to be followed for its worship.
Take care of purity: Clean the place of worship thoroughly and sprinkle Ganga water there before placing the Ganesh statue.
Outpost or posture: Do not place the statue directly on the ground. Install the statue only by laying a red or yellow cloth on a clean post or party.
Earthen statue: According to the scriptures, worshiping a statue made of clay is considered the most auspicious.
Statue installation Muhurta: Install the statue of Ganesha on Chaturthi Tithi itself. Installation of statue at night is not considered auspicious.
Direction: The statue of Ganesha should always be installed in the north-east direction. This direction is considered to be the most auspicious for worship.
size: The size of the statue should not be very large. The small statue is considered to be the best for worship at home, which can be easily immersed.
Abhishek and Pran Pratishtha: After installing the statue, anoint them. After this, chant the mantra “Pran Pratishtha” and put his life in the statue. This mantra gives perfection to worship.
Importance of vermilion and durva: It is considered very auspicious to offer vermilion and durva in the worship of Ganesha.
Modak’s enjoyment: It is necessary to offer modak to Ganpati Bappa. It is believed that this is his most favorite Prasad.
Regular worship: It is necessary to offer Ganesha’s Aarti, Mantra chanting and enjoyment of Ganesha by law in the morning and evening for ten days after establishment.
Fasting fasting: Devotees keep Nirjala or Falahar fast on this day. Women especially fast for family happiness and prosperity and long life of children.
