Children stones
Stones in the gallbladder was a disease of aging, but now it is no longer. Now this problem is also visible in children too. In recent years, there have been many cases in hospitals and clinics across the country, which have worried doctors. The Indian Pediatric Academy (IAP) had made a study on the children admitted to the hospital due to stomach pain in recent years. It is revealed that about 1 child out of every 200 children had stones in the bile bag.
Children’s food and lifestyle are changing rapidly in urban areas. Constant fast food and sweet consumption increases cholesterol and fat in children, which increases the risk of gallstones. Apart from this, obesity is also a big reason. Doctors are insisting that it is important to pay attention to children in time. Not doing so can make it a major health problem.
Children up to 6 years old are also getting stones
Dr. Sandeep Kumar Sinha, Director, Department of Child Surgery and Children’s Urology at Medanta-The Medicity Hospital, Gurugram, said that children up to 6 years of age are also seeing stones in the gallbladder. This is a cause of concern. Many times this disease is not known for a long time because children do not see symptoms. Often parents ignore as a common problem of stomach ache. While persistent stomach pain can be a symptom of gallstones. In such cases, doctors recommend to conduct ultrasound, so that the right treatment can be started in time.
Dr. Raman Kumar, Chairman of the Academy of Family Physicians of India, said that stones in bile bag can become a serious problem in children. Stones at such a young age are not a good sign. In such a situation, there is a need to rescue. In many cases, the situation can be handled by changes in drugs and food, but if there is swelling in the gall bladder, then surgery has to be done.
