Apple is experimenting with its buttons on iPhones as well as Apple Watches. With the launch of the iPhone 15 series, the tech giant has introduced an Action Button to its Pro models and later this year, Apple expanded the button to the entire lineup of iPhone 16. However, it seems that Apple is planning to expand the Action Button to model devices soon.
Not just one, but many!
As per a report by Patently Apple, the future iPhones are expected to witness multiple Action Button as the volume rockers are expected to turn into Action Button-like options. Not only that, Apple is expected to bring this idea of the button to other devices such as MacBooks, iMacs, iPads, Apple Watch, and more, the report by Patently Apple suggested.
What Is An Action Button?
As the name suggests, the Action Button on iPhones helps you to perform several custom tasks. Introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the Action Button helps you to quickly open an app, take photos, call your friends or family quickly, and many more based on your preference.
The report suggests that Apple’s Patent application mentioned the need for faster and more efficient methods to quickly let users access the information, which could be possible while replacing the traditional setup of buttons with more dynamic and useful options. Hint: Action Button!
Based on the report, the multiple Action Buttons will allow users to assign different tasks to each button, just like the current available Action Button. It must be noted that you need to go to Settings and assign a necessary task to the Action Button if you are using the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max.
When Will You Witness More Action Buttons?
Clearly, Apple is encouraging more innovative use of buttons with the new iPhone devices. The arrival of the Camera Capture button dedicated to camera controls, in addition to the Action Button, is a live example. The latest patent report hints towards the more use of Action Buttons on future iPhones and even other Apple devices. However, whether it really sees the ray of reality or just part of the patent documents is still a mystery. Hence, we can’t predict anything now.
