Operation kayakalp up: The schools in Uttar Pradesh, which are once struggling with the absence of dilapidated buildings and basic facilities, have been equipped with smart class, computer labs and modern facilities today. ‘Operation Rejuvenation’ and ‘Project Alankar’, which started on the initiative of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has given a new identity to the education system of the state.
Operation Rejuvenation: Children received modern facilities
Operation rejuvenation started in 2018 has become the backbone of the state’s education system today. Under this campaign, council schools were developed on 19 standards and up to 97 percent targets have been met.

Project Alankar: From dilapidated buildings to smart school
Project Alankar, implemented by the Department of Secondary Education, has changed the condition of thousands of schools. New facilities were added to 2295 schools on 27 standards. Now these schools have arrangements like smart class, computer lab, Wi-Fi, modern library, play and craft room, open gym, band and sound system. At the same time, CCTV, biometric machines, solar panels and fire safety systems have made these institutions more safe.
Condition before 2017: Children did not get basic facilities
Before 2017, the education system of the state was in a bad shape. Most of the buildings were dilapidated, neither toilets, no electricity nor furniture. Because of this, parents used to shy away from sending children to government schools. But the priority of the Yogi government was education and for this reason steps like ‘Operation Rejuvenation’ and ‘Project Alankar’ were taken.
New chapter of education in Uttar Pradesh
Today, these schools in rural areas have become not only government buildings, but have become the most beautiful and safe centers of Gram Sabha. The strong foundation of the bright future of children is being laid from here. This is the reason that the trust of rural parents has increased again on government schools. NITI Aayog has also considered these changes as an ideal model for the country.
