Yogi government has made women empowerment the center of development in the budget of 2026-27. From giving impetus to the rural economy to bringing women into the mainstream of entrepreneurship. A budget provision of Rs 200 crore has been made under the Uttar Pradesh Mahila Udyami Credit Card Scheme. The objective of this scheme is to provide easy, interest free and phased capital to women of self-help groups to set up small enterprises. The government’s focus is on freeing women from debt dependence and making them self-reliant entrepreneurs, so that there is a permanent increase in the income of rural families and the goal of ‘Lakhpati Didi’ gets new momentum.
Hundred percent women will operate, government will bear the rent for three years
- The government has taken another big step to ensure the sale of goods produced by women. A budget provision of Rs 100 crore is being made under the Chief Minister Women Entrepreneur Product Marketing Scheme. Under this, showrooms/shops in railway stations, bus stations, airports and big markets will be taken on rent for three years. These will be operated 100 percent by women. The government will bear the rent for the initial three years, after which self-help groups and women entrepreneurs will take further responsibility.
