From dal chawal to detox: Inside Alia Bhatt’s balanced daily diet

New Delhi: Alia Bhatt is always in the headlines for achieving so much in such a short span of time, from being the loveliest mom, fashion icon, presenting India at various events, to giving us breathtaking movies and timeless acts. While she continues to rule the box office and beauty zone with her flawless skin and skills, everyone always wonders what Alia Bhatt eats in a day to keep her skin glowing and maintain well-being at 33 years, to look fit and young after the baby, too.

During an interview with Aap ki Adaalt earlier, the actress shared that she is hardcore Indian and loves to be an absolute desi. ‘Mujhe ye salad walad ni jamta hai, mujhe dal chawal or sabzi chiye. For chapati, I try different variations like jowar, ragi or simple roti, and I never touch sugar at all.

Dal Chawal is a typical Indian staple food, consumed in most parts of India and is considered one of the healthiest and nutrient-rich meals, with all kinds of nutrients and minerals available in just one meal that are required by the body. It is lightweight and also makes a person feel full for longer hours.

If you think this is her recent diet, that’s not true. Alia Bhatt has been following a clean and healthy eating routine for years. In a 2018 interview with Vogue India, her former nutritionist Angie Kassabie shared that the Raazi actor focuses on a balanced and sustainable approach to her diet.

Her nutritionist shared that she is a very committed person when it comes to healthy eating, and she is mostly vegetarian. But adds protein pasta and seafood to her diet for healthy living.

It’s important to note that Alia Bhatt does not believe in starving herself. She enjoys desserts too, but in moderation. Her nutritionist shared that she includes desserts regularly—carefully prepared to be low in carbs, fats, and cholesterol, with each serving ranging between 160–260 calories, as shared by her nutritionist in an interview.

From time to time, they also follow short detox phases, where she consumes flavourful juices that help cleanse the body and support overall well-being. Post pregnancy, Alia Bhat lost 18 kgs within 3 months, sparking debates online, but she said, she worked hard to reach her goal and is consistent when it comes to keeping her body fit.
