America can allow India to buy Venezuelan oil.
Venezuelan oil is constantly in the news. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has posted his picture on social media and described himself as the acting President of Venezuela. At the same time, it has been claimed in media reports that America can allow India to buy from Venezuela. Till now the trade was halted due to America’s sanctions, but now it can start again.
Venezuela has the world’s largest crude oil reserves. Trump had his eye on this for a long time. Most people think that only petrol, diesel or aviation fuel is made from Venezuelan oil, but this is not at all the case. Know, what is made from Venezuelan oil and what is the whole process?
What is made from Venezuelan oil?
Venezuelan oil is heavy. Different types of products are made from it. These products are made after a several step process.Venezuelan oil is heavy and thick. It is extracted from the ground with the help of steam, hot water and chemicals. So that the oil can be sent to the refinery through pipeline, light oil is mixed with the thick oil extracted from the ground. This process is called blending. Its heavy molecules are broken in the unit. Sulfur impurities are removed.
Lubricant used in vehicles is also made from crude oil.
The oil is heated at very high temperatures. Different types of fuels are available at different temperatures. Domestic gas LPG is prepared at low temperature, which is used for cooking. Petrol comes out at moderate temperature. When heated too much, kerosene and diesel are released. The heaviest part in this entire process is asphalt. It is used in making roads.
Be it petrol or diesel prepared in this process, it cannot be used directly. To improve its quality, many types of additives are added to it. After this it becomes suitable for use in vehicles.
Aircraft fuel is also made from crude oil.
Aircraft fuel is prepared from crude oil only. Which is called jet fuel. The oil used in heavy machines including ships is made from crude oil only. Be it road construction or airport runway, Venezuela’s heavy, thick and sticky oil is considered most suitable for the asphalt used here.
Crude oil is also used in the manufacturing of lubricants and greases that smooth the machinery of vehicles. Like- engine oil, industrial oil. They are used in machinery related to many industries including textiles.
Oil is also necessary for making soap.
Crude oil is known for its strong hydrocarbons, which are essential for making synthetic plastics. This is the reason why crude oil is necessary for the manufacture of synthetic plastics. Apart from this, it also has an important contribution in making rubber, paint and varnish along with detergent and soap. Not only this, crude oil is necessary for making packaging materials and tyres, as well as for the production of electricity.
