From anemia to TB, the biggest women’s health campaign started in Chhattisgarh so far. Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyan CG Health Awareness

Under the ‘Healthy Women Strong Family Campaign’ in Chhattisgarh, 22 lakh people were examined in more than 31 thousand camps. 36 thousand beneficiaries started new awareness with health cards, 5 lakh anemia and 3.72 lakh TB tests.

On the auspicious occasion of Navratri, when Goddess was being worshiped across the country, women in Chhattisgarh resolved to protect their health. “Healthy women, strong family campaign” not only emerged as a health initiative, but it also became a symbol of changing social outlook into rural areas. More than 31,000 camps were organized across the state across the state, in which around 22 lakh people received investigation and treatment services. The participation of women in these was the highest – it shows that now women of the villages are also becoming aware of their health.

Priority to women’s health in Chhattisgarh

During the campaign, women’s health, nutrition and anemia were in the major focus.

  • More than 5 lakh anemia investigation
  • ANC check of 1.91 lakh pregnant women
  • 2.72 lakh sickle cell screening
  • 3.72 lakh TB check
  • Vaccination of 67 thousand children

Health workers advised women in villages on balanced diet, iron-folic acid, hygiene and lifestyle improvement. This initiative has moved ahead of treatment and brought prevention and awareness to the mainstream. The message of “healthy female-safe family” was conveyed to the people, linking the campaign to the Navratri festival. Thousands of women at the pandals and garba sites pledged for health awareness with fasting and worship. Health workers apprised women about the importance of menstrual hygiene, regular examination and eating.

Senior citizens also get benefits

The state government also connected senior citizens to the campaign. More than 36,000 beneficiaries were distributed Ayushman Vy Vandana and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-Jai) cards, which will now provide them high-level health services free. This initiative is proving to be a strong model of social empowerment.

Contribution towards TB free India

Chhattisgarh has taken a strong step in the TB -free India target of the Government of India by 2025.

  • TB screening of 3,72,985 people was done during the campaign.
  • The treatment process was immediately started when the symptoms were found.
  • More than 7,000 “darling friends” were registered, providing nutrition and mental support to the patients.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai said,

“A healthy woman is the foundation of a strong family and society. This campaign is an undertaking to change social thinking by going beyond treatment. This effort of Chhattisgarh will play an important role in the resolution of TB -free India 2025.”

Health Minister Shri Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said,

“Healthy women, strong family campaign has set a new record by delivering health services from village to village. Women have got a comprehensive facility to investigate diseases like anemia, sickle cell and TB. This initiative is a solid step towards ensuring quality health to every household.”
