From Anderson Peters To Curtis Thompson, A Look At Star-Studded Field For Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025

One of the world’s best javelin throwers will be seen in action during the Neeraj Chopra Classic 2025, which will be held next month and the organizers have also revealed the full list of international athletes.

Defending world champion Neeraj Chopra would be spearheading this event as it’s named after him but he will face tough challenges from some of the world’s best athletes.

Grenada’s Anderson Peters, the 2016 Rio Olympic gold medalist Thomas Keuler, and Kenya’s Julius Yego are some of the top javelin throwers, who would be seen in action in this event.

This list also includes the Pan American Games champion Curtis Thompson, who is also the world leader.

Japan’s Genki Dean, Brazil’s Luiz Mauricio Da Silva, and Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Pathirage are the other participants in this event.

It should be noted here that Pakistan’s Arshad Nadeem will be giving this event a miss. He did receive this invitation but would be skipping it as he wants to prepare for the Asian Athletic Championship, which will be held in Korea.

Neeraj Chopra, JSW, the AFI, and World Athletics are co-organizing the NC classic, which will be held at the Knateerava stadium in Bengaluru.

Earlier it was supposed to be held in Panchkula’s Tau Devi Lal stadium but the venue was moved owing to floodlight issues.

Considered the WA ‘A’ category or the Continental Tour gold-level meet, the upcoming NC Classic will be one of the top international athletic events to be held in the country until now.
