Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat trains from Kashi. Trains ran on four routes including Varanasi-Khajuraho. PM Modi said – Vande Bharat is the identity of self-reliant India, development and tourism got a new dimension in UP.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off four new Vande Bharat trains from Banaras Railway Station on Saturday. In these, he personally flagged off the Varanasi-Khajuraho Vande Bharat Express, while virtually flagged off the Delhi-Firozepur, Lucknow-Saharanpur and Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vande Bharat trains. On this occasion, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav, Kerala Governor Rajendra Arlekar, Union Minister Suresh Gopi and other leaders were present.
“Like developed countries, India too is now on the path of strong infrastructure”
Starting his speech in Bhojpuri, Prime Minister Modi said, “Our greetings to all of you, the family members of Kashi, in this holy city of Baba Vishwanath.” He said that the basis of developed India is strong infrastructure, expansion of railway network, roads and new technologies are giving new direction to the progress of the country.

Vande Bharat Train: Identity of Self-reliant India
PM Modi said that now more than 160 Vande Bharat trains are running on the tracks in the country. This train is a strong example of India’s engineering capability and self-reliance. “Vande Bharat, Namo Bharat and Amrit Bharat trains are creating the new generation of Indian Railways. These are trains built by Indians for Indians.”
Confluence of pilgrimage and development: Now holy places also connected to Vande Bharat Network
The Prime Minister said that religious places like Prayagraj, Ayodhya, Haridwar, Chitrakoot, Kurukshetra are now connecting to the Vande Bharat Network. This has given new impetus to both pilgrimage and development.
“Pilgrimages to India are not just religious, but a tradition that connects the soul of the country.”
Economy increased due to pilgrimage, crores of devotees reached UP
The Prime Minister said that last year 11 crore devotees came to see Baba Vishwanath, while till now more than 6 crore people have visited Ramlala in Ayodhya. Due to this, the economy of Uttar Pradesh has benefited thousands of crores and lakhs of people have got employment. Kashi is becoming the health capital of Purvanchal.
The Prime Minister said that now Kashi is developing as the health capital of Purvanchal.
Earlier people had to go to Mumbai for treatment, now people are getting relief from state-of-the-art hospitals, cancer centres, Ayushman Bharat and Jan Aushadhi Kendra in the city itself.
He said that many projects like roads, gas pipelines, stadiums and ropeways are being completed rapidly in the city, due to which Banaras is emerging as a model city.
“The talent of the children of Kashi is an inspiration for the country”
Prime Minister Modi said that at the inauguration ceremony of Vande Bharat trains, children of Kashi presented beautiful poems and pictures on “Developed India”.
“As the MP of Kashi, I am proud that the children of my city are so talented. I want the Kavi Sammelan of these children to be organized in Kashi.”
In the end, the Prime Minister said that we have to maintain the energy and momentum of Kashi, so that the dream of a grand and prosperous Kashi can come true.
