Former RCB Player, Who Now Plays For Punjab Kings, Fails Yo-Yo Test: Report

A former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) player, who now plays for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in IPL, has reportedly failed the yo-yo test.

He was among the many Indian players who underwent the fitness test at the BCCI Centre of Excellence last week. It is mandatory for the players to clear the test to be eligible for selection. Those who are part of the team can even get dropped if they fail to achieve the desired mark in the test.

RevSportz has reported that Vijaykumar Vyashak failed the fitness test. The right-arm pacer could have been in contention to play for India A in the series against Australia A. But he could now miss out on making it to the squad.

Vyashak is uncapped in international cricket. He was part of the T20I squad for the five-match series against South Africa in 2024 but missed out on making his debut.

The 28-year-old made his IPL debut for RCB in 2023. He scalped 9 wickets in the season. He played 4 matches in 2024. He scalped 4 wickets in 5 matches for PBKS in IPL 2025. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans were other teams to bid for Vyashak in the IPL 2025 mega-auction.

Rohit Sharma clears yo-yo test

PTI has reported that Rohit Sharma has cleared the yo-yo test. The India ODI captain hasn’t played international cricket since the 2025 Champions Trophy final, which took place in March. Rohit hasn’t played competitive cricket since IPL 2025.

Shubman Gill has also cleared the fitness test and he will soon fly to UAE for the 2025 Asia Cup. Shubman, who will assist Suryakumar Yadav in the continental tournament, hasn’t played a T20I since July 2024.

Jasprit Bumrah and Jitesh Sharma have also proven their fitness. Bumrah will lead India’s pace attack while Jitesh looks set to replace Sanju Samson in the playing XI.
