New Delhi: Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad has been elected as the new president of the Karnataka State Cricket Association following the elections on Sunday, December 7. Prasad defeated KN Shanth Kumar, who was backed by Brijesh Patel.
Santosh Menon and Sujith Somasundar are also part of Prasad’s panel, and they won the posts for secretary and vice president, respectively. The Prasad-led panel, earlier announced in their manifesto they will work actively to return cricket to the Chinnaswamy stadium, where mainstream cricket hasn’t been played following the stampede outside the stadium in June 2025 during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s title celebrations.
