Former child artist Mickey remembers late actor Mukul Dev

The Indian entertainment industry is mourning the sudden demise of actor Mukul Dev, who passed away on May 23, 2025, at the age of 54. Known for his impactful work across Hindi, Punjabi, and regional cinema, Mukul’s passing has left a deep void in the hearts of fans and colleagues alike. Among those remembering him is Mickey Dhamejani, who portrayed Sunny, the child artist in the beloved fantasy-sitcom Gharwali Uparwali Aur Sunny.

Taking to social media, Mickey shared a heartfelt tribute, writing, “SHOCKING! We spent years together as part of the show Gharwali Uparwali Aur Sunny and the next season as well. Always so helpful and supportive. Always teaching me! It feels painful and with a heavy heart I am writing this post. May the lord give his family the strength. RIP sir. You will always be remembered.”

Mukul Dev starred as Ravi, the father of Sunny, in the show that aired from July 3, 2000 to June 23, 2003. The series, which became a cult classic, also featured Niki Aneja Walia as Gharwali Pooja and Manasi Joshi Roy as Uparwali Chandini. Mukul’s character was central to the sitcom’s quirky yet heartwarming narrative, which blended elements of fantasy and everyday family life.
