After threatening to blow up Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib at Patna Sahib, the police arrested 4 youths with foreign pistols and cartridges from the guest house and made a big disclosure. Security agencies are on alert.
The threat of blowing Takht Shri Harmandir Sahib at Patna Sahib with RDX created sensation throughout the state. Taking immediate action, security agencies achieved great success by raiding the ‘Johri Niwas’ guest house at Patna Sahib. During the raid, the police recovered three foreign manufactured pistols, five empty cartridges, magazines and other suspicious items. Along with this, four Punjabi youths have been arrested and started investigating the entire case in depth.
Raid and weapon recovered in guest house
Police raided room number 305 and 306 of the guest house. These rooms were booked in the name of a private channel. The investigation found that the motives of the youths living in these rooms were suspicious. The police is now finding out whether they are related to a large gang and whether they were involved in any criminal activity. The recovery of arms has raised the concern of security agencies.
Identification of arrested youths
The arrested youths have been identified as Jaskaran Singh (son of Baldev Singh), Sardar Vijay Singh (son of Rasham Singh), Sardar Mani Singh (son of Prem Singh) and Aman Singh (son of Pirati Pal Singh). The police have formally arrested Jaskaran Singh, while the remaining three accused have been detained for questioning. Initial inquiry has revealed that Jaskaran is involved in weapons smuggling and is a resident of Punjab.
Police statement
Patna SSP Karthikeya Sharma said that Jaskaran Preet Singh has been involved in arms smuggling earlier. He said that the entire matter is being investigated in depth and it will be ensured that any possible threat is dealt with. The focus of the police is not only limited to the arrest of the accused, but their networks and contacts are being thoroughly investigated.
