New Delhi: Bayern Munich hammered RB Leipzig in their opening game of the Bundesliga 2025/26 season. Harry Kane netted a hat-trick, while Michael Olise scored a brace to help the club win three points. After losing the first match of the Premier League, Chelsea made a stunning comeback to thrash West Ham at their home.
Joao Pedro, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo and Trevoh Chalobah scored goals for the Blues to help them secure all three points. Fabian Ruiz’s lone goal helped Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) earn all three points in a tough battle against Angers at Parc des Princes.
Bayern Munich 6-0 RB Leipzig
Bayern Munich kicked off their Bundesliga 2025/26 season campaign with a sensational 6-0 victory against RB Leipzig at Allianz Arena. The defending champions dominated the match completely, showing exactly why they finished top of the table three months ago. Olise scored the first goal in the 27th minute, smashing a loose ball across the goal on his weaker right foot.
Diaz doubled the lead just five minutes later, hitting the ball in the underside of the crossbar after a quick pass from Gnabry. Olise netted his brace and Bayern’s third goal shortly before the half-time when Gnabry again passed the ball to the right of centre and the midfielder picked out the near bottom corner. Leipzig looked to attack in the second half, but the hosts enjoyed the possession and also created several goal-scoring opportunities.
Harry Kane scored his first goal of the match in the 64th minute, capitalising on a counter-attack after a Leipzig free-kick and finishing at the near post. Kane netted his second and Bayern’s fifth, running onto a brilliant flick by Diaz and bending his right-footed effort inside the far post. The striker completed his hat-trick just four minutes later as Bayern registered their biggest opening victory since 2020.
West Ham 1-5 Chelsea
Chelsea crushed West Ham United to register their first win in the Premier League 2025/26 season at the London Stadium. Lucas Paqueta scored the opening goal for West Ham in the 6th minute, after picking up the ball inside Chelsea’s half. He tried his luck from a distance, and the ball went into the top right-hand corner. Jao scored the first goal for the Blues after Neto delivered a teasing cross, and Pedro rose highest and headed it into the net.
Joao Pedro collected the loose ball and delivered a brilliant cross that Neto anticipated, dispatching the ball into the goal with a confident half-volley. Chelsea started controlling the game after taking the lead. Delap held the ball up smartly, allowing Estevão to break into space, and he drove into the box, firing a low cross, where Enzo had timed his run perfectly. Caicedo marked his 100th Chelsea appearance with a goal after the half-time, and Chalobah netted the fifth goal from a set-piece.
PSG 1-0 Angers
After a 1-0 away victory against Nantes, defending champion PSG returned home and defeated Angers in their second game of the Ligue 1 2025/26 season. The Les Parisiens dominated the game and created a lot of goal-scoring opportunities, but failed to convert them. They got their reward in the 50th minute of the match, when Ruiz positioned himself well and deflected a cross from Desire to score the only goal of the game.
After breaking the Deadlock, the hosts dominated the possession. Angers didn’t give up and finally got an opportunity to equalise, but Haris Belkebla failed to find the target as PSG secured three points.
