Nitish Kumar Flood Inspection: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the Home and Disaster Management Department at Patel Bhavan on Sunday amid heavy rains in Bihar and rising water levels. During this, he instructed the officers to stay in alert mode.
Patna News: Amid the rains in most parts of Bihar and rising water levels of rivers, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Patel Bhavan on Sunday and inspected the Home Department and Disaster Management Department and gave necessary instructions to the officials. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the Disaster Management Department and the State Emergency Operations Center and inquired about the arrangements and procedures there. During inspection, the Chief Minister reviewed the rainfall situation in the state, the water level of the rivers and the crop cover.
Good rain in the last 24 hours
Meanwhile, Additional Chief Secretary of Development Commissioner cum Disaster Management Department, Pratyam Amrit informed the CM about the rain situation in the state and told the CM that the state has received good rains in the last 24 hours. 222 blocks of the state have recorded 25 mm or more rainfall, which has increased the water level of the Ganges, Kosi and Budhi Gandak rivers, the water level is around the danger mark, but the situation is still under control.

Paddy crop will benefit
He said that the cover percentage of paddy crop in the state is 79.43 percent till August 3, by last year it was 67.38 percent. The state is receiving good rainfall, which has also improved the ground water level. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the state emergency operational center is a very useful center. This 24 -hour -run center is functioning better by the Disaster Management Department, which is benefiting the people of the state. He said that due to good rainfall in the state, farmers are getting benefits in transplanting work.
CM alerts officer
The Chief Minister instructed the officer concerned to stay in alert mode regarding the rising water level of the rivers and said that according to the SOP, all the necessary preparations should be kept complete. During the inspection, the Development Commissioner cum Disaster Management Department Additional Chief Secretary, Pratyam Amrit, besides the Amrit Amrit, Director General of Police Vinay Kumar, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. S. Siddharth, Secretary to the Chief Minister Anupam Kumar, Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Secretary, Department of Disaster Management and other senior officers of the Home Department and Disaster Management Department should be present.
