Flood Alert: The water level of Yamuna started rising in Haryana from around 7 am on Sunday morning. By 1 pm, the flow of the river reached one lakh cusecs. Due to increase in water level, flood alert has been issued in many districts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

Flood Alert: The risk of floods in Delhi is increasing. After heavy rains, the water level of Yamuna river is going up continuously. The water flow of Yamuna reached 1.78 lakh cusecs on Sunday at Hathinikund barrage in Yamunanagar, Haryana. Because of this, all 18 gates of the barrage had to be opened.

Flood alert issued in many districts

The water level of Yamuna in Delhi can go up to 206 meters by tonight. Due to increase in water level, flood alert has been issued in many districts of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi. If this happens, this danger mark will cross 205.33 meters. This information has been given by the Central Water Commission in the consultation issued on Sunday.

Water released from Hathinikund barrage on August 17

The old railway bridge of Delhi is considered to be the main point to monitor the water level and flood situation of Yamuna. According to CWC, the water level can go above 206 meters at around 2 pm on August 19, due to the water released from Hathinikund barrage and heavy rains in the upper areas.

Rising water level in Delhi

Officials of the Flood Control Department say that the water level in Delhi is increasing due to continuous release of large amounts of water from Wazirabad and Hathinikund barrage. This season, about 1,27,030 cusecs of water has been released from Hathinikund barrage this season. At the same time, about 45,620 cusecs of water is being released from Wazirabad barrage every hour. If the water released from these barrage usually reaches Delhi in 48 to 50 hours.
