A viral video circulating on social media has sparked outrage over alleged fraudulent practices during mobile exchange deliveries. The clip shows a Flipkart delivery agent reportedly demanding an additional Rs 500 from a customer during a phone exchange, allegedly threatening to damage the device when the request was refused.
According to the customer, the delivery boy claimed there was a “fault” in the old phone and refused to proceed with the exchange unless he was paid Rs 500 in cash. When the customer declined, the delivery agent allegedly warned he would “dent the phone.”
Despite the tension, the customer stood firm and asked the delivery agent to leave. The man, who identified himself as being from Badshahpur, reportedly told the customer to “behave like a customer,” prompting a sharp reply, “You’re a delivery guy, just deliver the phone, why are you creating drama?” The confrontation ended with the agent leaving without completing the delivery.

After the video went viral, several social media users began sharing similar experiences. Many alleged that some delivery personnel invent faults in old devices to demand extra cash during exchange offers.
One user commented, “Flipkart should monitor its delivery agents more closely.” Another added, “Customers shouldn’t have to deal with such tactics during exchanges.”
Some claimed the issue was part of a wider pattern. “I’ve exchanged 4 phones through Flipkart, and the delivery persons are trained to deliberately mark problems in their report to reduce the exchange price. But if you give them a bribe, they’ll give a good price. It’s a new normal,” wrote a commenter.
As of now, Flipkart has not released an official statement on the viral incident. Meanwhile, the video has reignited discussions about transparency and accountability in e-commerce delivery operations.
