Flexi cap funds drew highest investment in March: Know the top 10 return generators

Kolkata: The mutual fund industry is on an upswing. Even in war-torn March, when the US-Iran war kept ravaging the equity market, the mutual fund industry recorded the highest ever SIP of Rs 32,087 crore, according to Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI) data released today. The amount in February was Rs 29,845 crore. The category of funds that attracted the highest investment was flexi cap funds. This category of funds attracted a total of Rs 10,054 crore in March, which indicates the popularity of these funds. In a volatile market, flexi cap funds become appropriate. The reason: For these funds, the fund manager has the flexibility to invest in stocks of all sizes and across sectors. Please note that at least 65% of total assets of a flexi cap fund must be invested in equity and equity-related instruments. These are appropriate for investors with moderate to high risk appetite. This flexibility allows them to make changes in the portfolio as market conditions change of optimising returns. Experts point out that they are ideal for meeting long-term financial goals.
