New Delhi: The Technology Innovation Hub at IIT Kanpur, C3iHub had organised the Connect 1.0 Startup Demo Day here, where five innovative products developed by startups incubated by the accelerator were launched. Maraal Aerospace introduced the Tejasvaan high-altitude solar powered unmanned aircraft, that uses energy from the Sun to overcome the limited range and flight times of drones. The platform has an endurance of 12 hours, and has been designed for Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance missions. Aerosys Aviation introduced their Eliminator Kamikaze Drone, that can deliver shaped charges directly to targets even in the absence of GPS navigation, and has a deployer that can drop grenades while providing operators with a top-down view of the drop point.
The other three product launches had to do with cybersecurity and the metaverse. SecureTrace by SecureDApp is a forensic platform to trace and analyse illicit transactions. The technology has the capability of tracking movements of cryptocurrency across multiple wallets, and has been developed to cater to law enforcement agencies in the country. Then xIoTz introduced a Regulatory Compliance and Standards framework, with pre-built compliance packs. Saptang Labs introduced BlackFence, a cyber threat intelligence platform designed to tackle fraud, phishing, impersonation and brand abuse.
Sophisticated technology for a more secure India
Manindra Agrawal, Director, IIT Kanpur, said, “C3iHub at IIT Kanpur was set up with the objective to develop technologies in cyber security and bring them to a level where they can be deployed as solutions. The launches today and the cumulative work being done by the 50 odd startups incubated with us, testify the mandate to nucleate R&D to strengthen India’s cyber security space. As cyber-attacks are increasing multifold year-on-year, there is a need to have solutions that are affordable yet very robust, and indigenously built so that we have no external vulnerabilities. With growing synergy between the government, academia and other stakeholders, and with increased funding from both government and private sector, we are empowering the startups to pioneer the next big advancements to make India self-reliant in the entire cyber infrastructure and security space.”
