New Delhi: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pacer Mayank Yadav has reportedly recovered from his injury and has received clearance from the medical staff at BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) of Bengaluru.
Mayank was at the CoE in Bengaluru undergoing rehab while recovering from a lumbar stress injury. He suffered another toe injury, which further delayed his recovery.
According to a report in India Today, Mayank has recovered from his injury and is set to reunite with the rest of the LSG squad on Tuesday, April 15. Lucknow Super Giants are currently in Lucknow, where they will take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in a blockbuster clash on Monday, April 14. LSG have had a mixed start to their campaign in IPL 2025, with four wins and two defeats in their first six matches.
As per the report, Mayank has been declared fit to play, but the final call regarding his participation will be taken by the LSG medical staff. The pacer’s comeback is a huge boost for LSG as Mayank will not only strengthen their bowling line-up but will also add a new dimension to it with his blistering pace and ability to rattle batters.
Mayank was retained by LSG for Rs 11 crore ahead of the IPL 2025 mega-auction last year after his breakthrough campaign in IPL 2024. The Delhi pacer impressed with his ability to clock over 150kph consistently and picked up 7 wickets in 4 matches before picking up an injury. However, Mayank did enough in just four games to convince the LSG team management about retaining him.
