HAL aims to deliver the first aircraft by October, of which three are already ready and their final trials are left. The company plans to complete 180 aircraft by 2032-33. When will the first aircraft be delivered after signing the contract with HAL of MOD? On this question, Dr. Sunil said,

IAF has signed contract for 97 LCA MK1A
Regarding signing contract with HAL by MOD for the purchase of 97 LCA MK1A aircraft for IAF, Dr. DK Sunil, chairman and managing director of HAL, said,
By FY 2032-33, we will all create 180 aircraft. This is our goal.
The F404-IN20 engine will power India’s indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas MK1A. HAL has already acquired a contract of 99 engines for the initial 83 Tejas jet ordered by the Indian Air Force.
HAL is negotiating 80% technology transfer for GE’s F414 engines, which aim to power Advanced LCA MK2 and Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA). It is according to the ‘self -sufficient India’ vision of India.
The deal shows India’s efforts to reduce indigenization in the defense sector and reducing dependence on foreign suppliers.
Dr. Sunil does not see any effect related to tariff on conversation with GE; The LCA MK2 is designed keeping in mind the GE414 engine, which is strengthening the defense relations of Indo-US with cooperation in aerospace and technology transfer.
