The FIFA World Cup has produced many champions since its inception, but no one has been as victorious as Brazil, with their five trophies.
Many football greats have played in this tournament, providing joy and memories for football fans.
Germany and Italy, meanwhile, have lifted the trophy four times and played in some of the most famous World Cup finals ever. Argentina currently holds the title and can win it for the fourth time.
The FIFA World Cup started in 1930 in Uruguay, and it occurs every four years, except for 1942 and 1946, which coincide with the Second World War. Eight countries have won the championship since its inception, demonstrating the difficulty of becoming a world champion.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 has been filled with memorable moments thus far, but the best is yet to come in the finals. If Argentina manages to beat Spain, they will not only win their fourth World Cup title, but they will join Germany and Italy as the third country to defend the title after Italy in 1934 and 1938 and Brazil in 1958 and 1962. Spain, on the other hand, is simultaneously looking for its second World Cup win after its historic win in South Africa in 2010.
