An eventful Round of 16 in the FIFA World Cup 2026 came to an end on Tuesday (July 7) with Argentina defeating Egypt 3-2 in a controversial game in Atlanta, USA, while Switzerland edging Colombia 4-3 in penalty shootouts in Vancouver, Canada.
Eight teams who have made it to the quarterfinals that will kick off on Thursday (July 9) include, besides defending champions Argentina and Switzerland, France, Morocco, England, Norway, Spain and Belgium.
The four quarterfinals will be played till Saturday (July 11) and all of them will be played in the USA, which crashed out of the tournament with a 1-4 defeat against Belgium in the heated-up Round of 16 game.
The final will be held in New Jersey, USA, on July 19.
