Fermín Aldeguer distances himself from his teammate’s settings and looks at Marc Márquez instead but highlights: ‘We have our own way’

Though he shares the garage with Álex Márquez, Fermín Aldeguer insists he works independently on his setup, staying true to his own riding style.

Asked whether he uses Álex Márquez’s base setup, Aldeguer was firm: ‘No. I think every rider has his own style. You have to work for yourself. Work in your best direction. Of course, you have to stay on the limit. You have some references from the other riders’ settings, but I work only based on my own style and don’t look at the others’.

On which rider might have a style more similar to his, he replied: ‘My bike is very similar to Marc Márquez’s. Maybe we have 100% the same bike, but it’s not because I look at him. We work in our way, and in the end, we arrived at that point’.

For Aldeguer, it’s all about staying on track with the engineers: ‘In MotoGP you have a lot to do, but you have references, you know, for the engineers and all of that’.
