Mumbai: Rajesh Kumar, who played the role of Satish Shah’s son on Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, took to Instagram to write a heartfelt tribute to the actor. In the post, Rajesh stated that the passing of the actor was unbelievable to him and that he was left feeling like he had lost a father figure.
“This is the worst hour for me. I still cannot process that Satish ji is no more. All I can say is that it feels I have lost my father,” said the actor online. He added that the death of Satish was a “big loss” to the entertainment industry in India. Further, he remembered Satish’s personality and his capabilities as an actor. “A man full of life and humour. Challenging everything. Made his name left his mark as an actor. This is a big, big loss to the industry and us (Sarabhai’s family). Let’s pray for his departed soul and keep him in your prayers,” said Kumar. He concluded the post by writing “RIP, Kaka”.

In an interview, Kumar revealed he was in his village when he heard the news. At the time, he stated, “I was in the village when I got the news, when I spoke to you at 4 o’clock. Then I had to book my ticket. I had to cancel couple of tickets because I was travelling out of here on the 29th. Then I drove for 2.5 hours and just reached Patna airport. Then I took a 10-hour flight from here, and I will be reaching Mumbai around 1.”

He also recollected that he had told Satish that he would come visit him after returning from Bihar. “I told him that I’ll come and see you after a week, I’m back from Bihar. And we had a good half-hour conversation. It was more in the recovery mode, he said that 80% he has recovered, 20% he needs to recover,” said the actor.
The last rites will be held on Sunday.
