In an interview given to Fox News, Trump said- I ended 8 wars, 5 of which happened because of tariffs. Giving an example, Trump said, “The threat of tariffs stopped two nuclear-armed nations like India and Pakistan from fighting each other. Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also said that Donald Trump saved millions of lives. I told India and Pakistan almost the same – if you fight with each other, I will not trade with you, we will impose 200% tariffs, which will make it difficult for you to make a deal.”

What was the response of India and Pakistan?

India launched Operation Sindoor against Pakistan in May
Let us tell you that in May 2025, a major conflict was seen between India and Pakistan when India bombed terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) under Operation Sindoor to avenge the death of 26 civilians in the Pahalgam terrorist attack in April.
