Commissioner Beau Mason of the Utah Department of Public Safety described the images, urging viewers to pay attention to the suspect’s black backpack and cap with a triangle logo. Cox added that more than 7,000 tips have already been received, marking the largest response for a single FBI investigation since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.

Governor Cox warned the public about the tremendous amount of misinformation circulating online, urging people not to share unverified claims. He noted that Russian and Chinese bots are reportedly amplifying false information related to the case.
