NHAI has increased the fees for Fastag annual pass for private vehicles. The new price from April 1, 2026 will be Rs 3,075. This pass eliminates the need for frequent toll recharge.
New Delhi: If you frequently travel on the National Highway, the burden on your pocket is going to increase slightly. The National Highway Authority (NHAI) has changed the fees for the annual pass of Fastag. The price of the pass has been increased from Rs 3,000 to Rs 3,075 for the financial year 2026-27. These new rates will be applicable from April 1, 2026. The Union Road Transport Ministry said that this increase has been made on the basis of National Highway Fee rules.
Only for private vehicles
This annual pass is only for non-commercial i.e. private vehicles, such as cars, jeeps and vans. This scheme was started on 15 August 2025 and became quite popular in a very short time. According to statistics, more than 56 lakh people in the country are using this facility.
Pass validity and benefits
Validity: This pass will be valid for one year from the date of purchase or till you cross the toll plaza 200 times (whichever is earlier).
Where will it work: This pass can be used at about 1,150 toll plazas in the country.
Benefit: Its biggest advantage is that the hassle of repeatedly recharging for toll gets eliminated and the journey becomes easier.
How to buy a pass?
The annual pass is linked to your existing Fastag only. You can adopt these methods to buy it:
- Visit the Highway Yatra app or the official website of NHAI.
- Log in with vehicle number and Fastag ID.
- Make payment of Rs 3,075 through UPI, Debit/Credit Card or Net Banking.
- Your pass will be activated within about two hours of payment and you will also get its confirmation.
