The Central Government is running many schemes to strengthen the economic condition of the farmers of the country. One of these is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. Through this scheme, farmers are given financial assistance of Rs 6,000 every year. But very few people know that by joining this scheme, farmers can also avail the benefit of pension of Rs 3,000 every month after the age of 60 years.
If you are already taking the benefit of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, then it becomes easy for you to join PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. This scheme has been started especially for small and marginal farmers, so that they can get regular income in old age and do not have to be financially dependent on anyone.
Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, the government gives Rs 6,000 to farmers every year in three installments. Every four months, Rs 2,000 is transferred directly to the bank account. At the same time, if farmers join Maandhan Yojana, then after completing 60 years of age, they get a pension of Rs 3,000 every month i.e. Rs 36,000 annually.
This is how you will get pension
The most important thing is that the farmer does not need to pay any separate money from his pocket. The contribution required for the pension scheme can be adjusted only from the amount received from the Samman Nidhi. However, for this the farmer has to give consent and get registered by filling a simple form.
To apply, farmers can go to their nearest Common Service Center (CSC). There the process can be completed by giving Aadhar card and bank account information. Farmers whose age is between 18 to 40 years can join this scheme. The younger you join, the less you will have to contribute.
