Shivi has told in an Instagram video how she and her husband divide household expenses and work among themselves. This video of his has now become a topic of discussion on social media.
Annual income of Rs 2.1 crore
Shivi and her husband together earn more than $2,50,000 (approximately Rs 2.1 crore) a year. Shivi says that they manage this income very effectively. Her husband pays the loan and property taxes on the San Francisco house. Shivi reminds that house rent and taxes are very high here, which can be many times higher than any Indian city like Mumbai or Delhi.
At the same time, Shivi pays the children’s day-care fees and credit card bills. They pay all the other daily expenses like household food, gas, travel, electricity bill and public transport through credit card. Shivi says that due to such division, the financial burden falls on both of them almost equally i.e. 50-50.
Equal share in household chores
Not only in money matters, this couple is also an equal partner in household chores. Cooking, cleaning the house and washing clothes are done together. Both of them have also divided the responsibility of dropping the children to school and helping them in their studies. Shivi told in his video that he does not hire anyone from outside and saves a huge amount by doing the work himself.
Shivi says, “We are 50-50 not only in expenses, but in everything. We have separate accounts for investments.
