Sometimes the truth is so unbelievable that it seems like a story. But the fake IAS Gaurav alias Lalit Kishore caught from Gorakhpur is no less than a film villain. Fraud worth crores, hoax of government contracts, red-blue light vehicles, gunners, fake files, girlfriends and artificial status, all this is a world created by one man. But ultimately this palace of lies collapsed and his secret was exposed.
Fake IAS arrested from Gorakhpur, the network was running a big racket
Gorakhpur Police has busted a syndicate whose leader Gaurav Kumar Singh alias Lalit Kishore was fond of cheating by posing as an IAS. His two associates Abhishek Kumar and Parmanand Gupta have also been arrested. Investigation has revealed that this gang had spread the roots of fraud in UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand.

99 lakhs caught during Bihar elections revealed the layers
The initial suspicion increased when the investigation into Rs 99 lakh seized during Bihar elections began. The agencies found Gaurav’s actions suspicious and started close surveillance on him. Within a few days, his lifestyle and the whole game of fraud started getting exposed.
In 2019 M.Sc. How did a young man become a fake IAS?
Gaurav completed his M.Sc. in Mathematics in 2019. Did this and dreamed of becoming a DIOS, but did not get success. In 2022, he took Rs 2 lakh from a student in the name of getting him a job, this became his first case. After arrest, bail and then staying underground for almost a year, he started a big game of fraud.

According to the police, Gaurav used to spend huge amount every month to maintain IAS-like protocol.

People would get influenced by his status and he would cheat them of crores of rupees by luring them with contracts, government schemes and tenders.
4 girlfriends, 3 pregnant and no one knew the truth
The information the police got from phone surveillance was surprising. Gaurav had 4 girlfriends, out of which 3 were pregnant. Apart from this, he had also eloped and got married. None of his girlfriends knew that he was married.
Used to create fake government documents with AI
His brother-in-law, who had studied software, used to help him in preparing fake documents. The files created with the help of AI looked like the original. This was the most powerful weapon of his fraud.
Rs 5 crore and 2 Innovas grabbed from businessman in Patna
A few months ago, he had taken Rs 5 crore and 2 Innova cars from a big businessman of Patna by luring him with a tender worth Rs 450 crore.
His pride reached the point of slapping the SDM.
An SDM in Bhagalpur doubted his identity. During interrogation, Gaurav angrily slapped the SDM. The surprising thing is that the SDM did not even complain about it, perhaps because he was confused by his status.
