Fake medicine is a poison that gradually plays with people’s lives. It is difficult to identify the difference between real and fake medicine, but if you take some precautions then you can easily escape. Remember, medicine is taken to fight the disease, but if the medicine is fake then the disease can increase further.
Why are fake medicines dangerous?
Think, what will happen if you are sick and you get a fake medicine in the name of treatment? The disease will not be cured, it can be reverse and worsen. Many times fake medicine contains chemicals that can harm the body. Especially taking fake medicine in serious diseases like blood pressure, sugar, heart and cancer is a great risk.
Easy ways to identify fake medicines
- Watch the packaging carefully- Packing of real medicines is of quality. Fake medicine often has printing blurred, spelling wrong or packing loose.
- Check MRP, batch number and expiry- These details are clearly printed on the real medicine. In fake medicines, the batch number will look strange or you will get the same written on all packs.
- Scan the barcode or QR code- Now most of the real companies offer QR code. On scanning from mobile, it is known whether the drug is in the company’s record.
- See the color and size of the drug- The color and shape of the real medicine will be the same every time. The color of the fake medicine may look faded or brighter.
- Always buy medicine by taking bills- Whether the medicine is 10 rupees or 1000, take a bill. There should be doubt on without bills.
- Check the company’s logo and seal- In many fake packing, the company’s logo is copied, but the difference will be visible when looking carefully.
- If not affected, ask the doctor- If there is no difference after taking the medicine or there is a strange reaction, then immediately consult a doctor and report the medicine to the company or drug department.
Responsibility of government and people
The government continues to take action on the gang selling fake drugs, but the truth is that if the common people are not aware then this business will never stop. Just as we see quality while buying fruits and vegetables, it is important to be cautious while taking medicine. So next time you buy medicine, keep in mind the points mentioned above. Be cautious, be aware and protect your health.
