Director Anees Bazme’s son Faizan Bazmee has unveiled the trailer of his much-anticipated directorial debut short film Postman. The film is being headlined by veteran actor Sanjay Mishra.
Following the release of the trailer, director Anees Bazmee has exclusively shared his first reaction with Zoom and lauded his sons endeavour. The gripping trailer shows Mishra in a deeply moving and striking avatar as a postman.
In the trailer Mishra’s Postman finds himself in danger while protecting the most important letter of his life, amidst the Indo-pak tension during the Kargil war. The short film, which has already been nominated and is making its way through several prestigious film festivals, has begun to generate strong buzz with its powerful storytelling and heartfelt performances.
Reacting to the trailer, Anees Bazmee, in an exclusive interaction with Zoom lauded his son’s endeavours and shared, “I have always been proud of your simplicity, sincerity, dedication and athletic discipline and now, after watching your movie, I’m even more proud of the amazing work you’ve done. Hard work pays off, this is just the start betu.”
Meanwhile, in a statement, Faizan A Bazmee expressed his gratitude and excitement regarding the trailer stating, “Cinema, for me, is about truth and emotion. With this trailer, I hope people feel the honesty with which this story has been told.”
Earlier he had shared his experience of collaborating with Sanjay Mishra stating that working with he veteran is an experience every director dreams of. The young filmmaker had revealed that the whole world knows Mishra is an amazing actor and now Bazmee found himself expecting that same level of commitment, dedication and sheer mastery of the craft from every actor he works with
Co-written by Faizan and Shwet Parekh, Postman brings alive the poignant idea of a man whose professional duty unexpectedly turns personal. Produced by Parth Savalia, the film also features Tanishq Chaudhary and Samarth Shandilya in pivotal roles.
